For Immediate Release

If you are in downtown Regina on September 25, chances are you are going to hordes of people shambling around the city dressed up like zombies for the 9th Annual Regina Zombie Walk.

The Regina Zombie Walk is a unique event where zombies congregate together and walk around the city to raise food donations for the Regina & District Food Bank. The Regina Zombie Walk will begin at 3:00 pm in Victoria Park. Around 4:30 pm, we will begin walking around downtown Regina.

A majority of Zombie Walks throughout Canada has a charitable component to them. It is quite often that they are tied into a charitable cause that is related to food insecurity, which is very strangely appropriate. The Regina Zombie Walk partners with the Regina & District Food Bank for our event. We ask participants to bring a non-perishable food bank item to our event if they are financially able to.

The first officially recognized Zombie Walk happened in October 2003 in Toronto that featured six zombies. In the late 2000s, there was an exponential growth in the number of Zombie Walks throughout North America due to the increasing popularity of zombies in mainstream popular culture.
